    <description>I don't think the vPar can directly boot from a SAN based tape - you need to boot the install kernel (from ignite server or DVD), then restore from tape.</description>

      <description>Hi All&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have vpar_1 on rx8640 server. i did an ignite on tape device into MSL2024 FO library (make_tape_recovery -I -x inc_entire vg00 -a /dev/rmt/1mn). Now need to restore this vpar from this ignite tape. i insert the tape into the device and need to boot vpar from this tape devie into this FO library with commande vparload -p vpar_1 -B TAPE. have error '''No Tape device found'''&lt;BR /&gt;I am sur this vpar is the owner of the target tape device.&lt;BR /&gt;trying to set the ALTBOOT of vpar_1 on the tape device target and starting -E 1. the error is '''fs1:\efi\hpux\vparconfig.efi' not found'''.&lt;BR /&gt;Any suggestion please?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Waiting your reply.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>But you can specify a boot device.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Most easy method would be to boot from an ignite server, using the vpars dbprofile option.</description>

      <description>... you simply need to install the ignite software on another server and boot the install kernel (see vparsdbprofile option). Stop at the user interface, select&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-&amp;gt; Install HP-UX -&amp;gt; select Advanced Installation -&amp;gt; Recovery tape -&amp;gt; GO!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(assuming the tape is already loaded into the drive). IMHO this should work.</description>

      <description>When showing me the list of tape device installed on the system it show me two line with the same device file. i beleive that second device is the ALTPATH to the same tape device but must show me another device file pointing to the same tape device. have two SAN Swith.&lt;BR /&gt;why show me these two lines with the same device file? they have any error?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any idea? &lt;BR /&gt;</description>
