Hi

I am having system R class and with the 11.00 installed on it.But i do not have any software for mirroring .But I have to installed the same on my system so i just would like to check which software is available and where i will get documentation abt the same.Also if third party software is available where i will have to go to buy it?

pls guide me in this matter.

To find out what is installed on your system, you can use "swlist". See the man-pages for more info.

The software can be found on different CD's you receive/request from HP (if you have a contract) : install/core - applications - extension sw - diagnostics ...

To install it : "swinstall". Choose the correct drive and select the sw you want to install. Of course hp-ux needs already be running ...

Another option is to 'klone' your running system on the new server using ignite-ux : "make_recovery".

Hi Nikhil,

I would like to add some comments to Ivan's details.

You can't browse your CDs for Mirror s/w until you really procure it. As all the HP application CD are codeword protected. you cann't even see fully what it is having inside it.

First you should purchase the mirror s/w from HP. You will get codeward request form, apply for the codeword (or online www.itrc.hp.com). You will get a codeword with application CD Number where the s/w is located. Use the CD and update the codeward from swinstall, select the s/w and install.

Hi,

You can get this s/w from your HP system supplier or directly from HP.

I am not sure of evaluation copy of this s/w. Aprox. cast for mid range of servers is 1,00,000/- + in indian rupees.
