topic ignite backup error in Operating System - HP-UX

We are connected the external tape drive in rp440 server through scsi port.
During ignite backup we face some error.please find the error message.
Again it will asking the cleaning tape for clean.so many times I clean the drive but during data write time it will blinking same clean LED.
Please help urgent!!!

Error:
Recovery\ Archive -t 1 -i 1 -m t
* Saving the information about archive to /var/opt/ignite/recovery/previews
* Creating The Tape Archive
* Checking configuration file for Syntax
* Writing boot LIF to tape
ERROR: /usr/bin/dd if=/var/tmp/uxinstlf.recovery of=/dev/rmt/0mn bs=2k failed to write LIF onto tape.
ERROR: Failed to generate LIF on tape.

Hi,

Have you done this in the same box before without issues?
Yes:
1.- Try with a new tape cartridge
2.- Check in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.lo for any EMS message related with this unit.
3.- Try to do any other heavy I/O operation against the tape unit (i.e: tar, dd, fbackup, etc)
4.- Call you HW Service for tape unit replacement

No:
HP-UX version?
Ignite version?
Tape format (DDS, DLT, etc)?
Some ancient Ignite version do not support external tape units.

The tape drive needs replacing. The clean light is blinking due to excessive errors.

On which port did you connect the tape drive?
