      <description>Have you checked your tape drive ?  Is there any issue with tape or drive ?</description>

      <description>You have only one tape drive connected to the system and I can see the current tape is at the end.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You may do, rewind, forward functions as well as read/write operations from your tape to identify, whether any issues.</description>

      <description>I/O error for tape indicates a hardware problem. Change tapes and try running a simple tar backup:&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;tar cvf /dev/rmt/2m /tmp&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;If this fails, have you recently added any new devices to the same bus as the tape drive? Has the cable or terminator been touched recently? Otherwise, it may be a bad tape drive.</description>

You might even have a problem with the SCSI card. This assumes that all the answers to my questions about your cables and connections are positive.</description>
