Hello,

We've updated Ignite to the latest Version available: Ignite-UX - C.7.8.201

Backup works! But during the restore of an Archive it displays following strange error:

* Processed 50% of archive ││
│ │ * Processed 60% of archive ││
│ │ * Processed 70% of archive ││
│ │ * Processed 80% of archive ││
│ │ * Processed 90% of archive │
│ │ * Completed 100% of archive ││
│ │ ERROR: Cannot load OS archive (Recovery Archive) ││

Then it offers a recovery shell.
After exit(2) the shell, the restore is continuing without any problems.

Any ideas ?!

Shalom,

Use the recovery shell. This will provide you raw data as to what the issue was.

There are logs, but you may need to log a support call or post error messages to figure out the issue.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, after exit(2)ing the recovery shell, the system seems to be ok.

There are no additional informations in the logfiles available, not a little hint to what caused the problem. (install.log)

We tried to restore an archive that was taken with the old ignite version, as well one that was taken with the new version.

We tried to restore different archives on different systems - every time the same error, so it seems to be related to the igntie configuration.

Hello EA,

I've used archives with Ignite to install many servers, and not run in to this problem.

Have you reviewed the contents of your archive config file /var/opt/ignite/data/{release}/{config} for accuracy? Maybe there is a duplicate entry for the archive name/location which is generating the error (just a wild guess).

If you want to post your config files, I'd be happy to take a look.

just to let you know. I am using the same version as yours, and my restores are working ok.

# swlist -l bundle | grep -i ignite (08-14 15:47)

did you verify the archive on the tape before loading it to other server?
