      <description>you can take ignite backup before updating your ignite s/w version and also use fbackup to backup your enitre system to tape&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#/opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -Av&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#fbackup -f/dev/rmt/0m -i -v</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Take full backup of your system by using fbackup or any other tools you are using for backup.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Take root volume group backup by ignite tool.&lt;BR /&gt;Refer to attached documnet&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Durvesh</description>

      <description>I think you need not to backup any files.You should not swremove the existing version. If so all your customizations will be intact.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I upgraded Ignite-UX about 10months back, I chose a different approach by removing the older version and installing the newer one due to conflicts in existing different Ignite-UX software versions.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I took a look on Ignite-UX faq too which is now @ &lt;A href="http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-5094/5992-5094.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-5094/5992-5094.pdf&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check section 9-3.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers!!</description>

      <description>I my experience, there may be 2 important files that could get lost (not with a normal upgrade/install) if swremove is done before swinstall.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/var/opt/ignite/INDEX&lt;BR /&gt;Files in /etc/opt/ignite&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Consider some simple .bak copies here</description>
