topic Strange Ignite Warning in Operating System - HP-UX

I get this warning in my client install.log file and it is displayed in the itool display on the console during a network install.

WARNING: Software selection "DSS/Unix Additional" will not be loaded. It was
selected (probably due to a previous saved installation) but it does
not reference an existing software source.
WARNING: Software selection "KernelConfig" will not be loaded. It was selected
(probably due to a previous saved installation) but it does not
reference an existing software source.

Both selections are actually loaded successfully though without errors - other than the warning messages. Any idea what I might have done wrong to get this to work yet still complain? The config files are properly referenced in the INDEX file, the config files appear to have the correct syntax (instl_adm -T is happy with them), and the files they refer to are in the archives filesystem which is properly exported - and it works! I would like to make this warning go away as it makes my otherwise clean install messy. I have this problem with all of my 11.23 and 11.31 client installs, but not with the 11.11 client installs. Any ideas?
Just about every error that occurs with Ignite can be traded for new ones with the latest version.

These look to be empty packages. Probably there either for reference or someone was messy and did not cleanup very well.

I would not worry about it. Depending on your software source this also may be traded for new erroneous errors with newer source media.

These are only Warnings, As Tim said - I would not worry too much about them.

I have seen ignite throw up Warnings before for apparently no reason, if the servers are up and working just ignore them.

Shalom,

Remember when upgrading Ignite to swremove the old version before upgrading. Before that back up customization you did of the INDEX and other configuration files.

I would not trust an Ignite backup with this error.

See about doing a restore test if forced to live with this problem.

SEP

Thanks for the replies guys. These are not empty files and they do in fact install properly every time - I just get these messy warnings. I am using Ignite version C.7.7.98, which is an update of the original that came with the OS (HP-UX Enterprise Operating Environment B.11.23 ia64 December 2007). I can accept that Ignite trades old errors for new ones as I have seen that too over time. I will simply ignore these errors until such time that I upgrade Ignite and see what happens then. I just thought I may have made a dumb mistake to cause the false warnings. Thanks again for the replies.
