      <description>The question is not really clear - the tape is connected to the server, isn't it?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In case you mean the tape can be connected to a remote server, no, the tape must be local connected.</description>

      <description>You need to have the tape locally connected if you want to restore from.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But you can also make a network based backup to the server, restore from server too and make a backup of the archive file to a tape connected to the ignite server.</description>

      <description>Torsten.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My team requires to have both the facilities &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1) ignite net backup as well as &lt;BR /&gt;2) ignite tape backup .. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;for the 2) case we need more tape drives , &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;kindly suggest me how to take tape backup on the tape drive connected on servers and if not why we can't do it</description>
