error making depot

Hi!!

I have an rp7410 running 11.23. Version of ignite is C.7.8.201. I ran ignite from the command line, and chose to copy the cd-rom's from 11.11 media to a depot. I copied the first one, but received an error, see attached.

Any ideas?

hi Ron:

Your first command had:

-d /var/opt/ignite/depots/Rel_B.11.11/core

I think you wanted:

-d /var/opt/ignite/depots/Rel_B.11.11/core_cfg

Thanks James for the prompt response.

I just launch the gui app to create the depot. It doesn't give me any option to change anything...just starts copying.

Is there an equivalent command-line I can run to get the desired results?

If I keep asking questions, do I have to give my hat back?

Looks like make_config assumes that the directory /var/opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.11 should exist.

Make sure it does. If not, create it. Ignite should create this path on install. Not sure why it would not be there.

(BTW, you can keep your hat. The next hat is just a fancy dunce cap, so you are on track ;)

I created the correct directory...Rel_B.11.11

I am dumfounded as to why ignite didn't create it for me. I am inherintly lazy.

Ok...I ran it again from the gui interface.

Similar kind of error msg. Looks to me perhaps the 11.11 component of IGNITE is not installed here.

Post the output of 'swlist | grep -i ign' from your ignite server.

Hahahahah...ok. It's an 11.23 server, but I guess I need 11.11 ignite to create an 11.11 depot?

Yep. There is another bundle you need to download/install for 11.11 install support. And, if you are considering 11.31, another similar bundle for that, also.

Things should work better after that.
