Set up a server with APA, can no longer get ignite image of that server.
receving error msg:

# ERROR: parser cannot open file:
/var/opt/ignite/clients/0x00306EF4CFFC/host.info: No such file or directory (errno = 2)

Shalom,

Ignite names its make_net_recovery files based on MAC address.

If the systems main MAC address has changed, this could be the cause.

Can you tell us how you do the backup? Is it initiated from a central Ignite Server or on the local machine.

Well, the answer is screaming at you:

the 0x00306EF4CFFC in the middle of your path is/was the MAC address of your old NIC and most probably the permissions on the ignite server were set according to this MAC address. Now that you are using APA, your MAC address most probably has changed.

when you run command lanscan, what do you see across your APA'ed interface as the mac address now ?

Yes you both are correct in your responses.

1. I do use the ingite gui to initiate the ignite image. should I execute an ignite image from the local server to correct my issue.

2. And yes the above mac address for the server is no longer configured as the primary lan.

To be perfectly honest, the details elude me right now, but you can configure your ignite independent of the MAC addresses and automate it using cron. The answer to "how" is buried in the ignite users manual. Bt since your manual setup is working, you have the uderlying infrastructure (i.e. NFS, permissions etc) is ready. I'd strongly suggest you to do this, automate. Automation is the sysadmins' best friend.
