Smart Array 6402,Mirror break

Hi Guruz,

i have one RP4440 with hardware RAID controller.By default its RAID 1+0,i want to break the Mirror.I really appreciated if someone Guide me hows its possible.

What do you want to do - what is your goal?

According to this documentation you van delete and re-create the logical drive.

I never did this, but maybe it works for you:

To perform a migration of an existing logical drive to a different RAID level, use the command:

saconfig /dev/cissX -M -R [-S ]

So try to change the RAID level from 0+1 to 0 (see same manual).

Dear Torsten.

i have fresh server without HP-UX.I think for the break of mirror i first need the install HP-UX and break the mirror or i can do this in ISL> mode...?
Actually i m working on hardware raid first time and before this i work on Software Mirror

You can get in to the hardware raid controller before booting and right after the POST. This is before ISL as well. This is known as ORCA and I think it is available on the server. Take a look at the document page 237 on how to access the raid controller utility before boot up.

I found conflicting references about ORCA being available or not on the rp4440. If it is not, take a look at page 13 of
