You can't boot from the NFS mounted cd.
Consider to do as advised earlier.

Shalom,

Few options.

1) You can make a DVD drive on one of your systems an NFS share and try the install from there.
2) You can do a clean install on a system and then use Ignite make_tape_recovery to make your tape.

I will post back if I think of more.

SEP
Another way is if you have same type of server which is having hp-ux 11i then you can create a bootable tape using make_tape_recovery.

As already given NFS is the next choice.

Consider this:

Setup the server with the DVD-ROM as an ignite server, copy the installer DVD to the ignite depot (via ignite UI), copy the latest patch bundles to the same depot and boot + install the clients from the installer depot.

Shalom,

Torstens's advice will probably work.

If you really want a bootable tape, you will have to install a system somewhere. Perhaps if you are short of equipment you can get some time in a nearby HP Performance Center.

But Ignite lets you create install points without the benefit of a bootable tape, and you can do network boots off your Ignite server.

http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1186650

http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-3336/ch03s05.html

http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90772/ch07s03.html

http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-3336/apas03.html

I like the last link best, hence I stopped looking at them.

Any depot based software, including the Core OS can be presented and installed from an Ignite server.

SEP
