Ignite backup of a ignite client fails giving he below error in ignite logs

ERROR: The make_sys_image command failed. The system recovery archive wil not be created.

NOTE: A previous make_sys_image process appears to be running. Please wait for its completion or remove lockfile(s):
/var/tmp/ign_configure/make_sys_image_flag10704

NOTE: A previous make_sys_image process has not completed.
ERROR: Please ensure that any previous make_sys_image has completed before starting a new recovery process. It appears that a previous process may be hung.

Before starting the backup i have checked for any hanged make_sys_image process but i couldn't find any. Also tried removing the lockfile and restarting the backup. it did not help either.
how do i find this hunged process????

The "ps" output does not show any ignite / *make* process running.

Both the Ignite server and client have Ignite C.7.2.94 and are running HPUX 11.11

Note: I do not have the root access on any of these servers

Remove the lock file.

# rm /var/tmp/ign_configure/make_sys_image_flag10704

i removed the lockfile and started the backup. Still the backup fails giving the same error.

Also the backup takes unusually long time before giving that error

could you post the output of ll /var/tmp/ign_configure ?

i do not have read or execute permissions on
/var/tmp/ign_configure

No root access. Only the onsite people have root access as of now.

there are no "hung" processes on ignite server and ignite client.

i had already mentioned this in my first post. also no defunct processes

also if there is a hung process is there a way to find such processes?????

Why is it necessary to Kill any instl_bootpd or bootpd processes running on ignite server.

there is a process /usr/sbin/rbootd running.
