Alberto --

The failure you are seeing above is most likely a system panic although it could be a HW induced panic.

Try booting from :

a) a previous kernel ( hpux /stand/vmunix.prev from ISL )

b) in single user mode ( hpux -is )

c) in maintanence mode ( hpux -lm )

If these fail to work, you can unmask the "true" failure message by turning off the Alert level 12 messages as follows:

See document ID: KBRC00007966

What did you try to change the name to? If it is more than 8 characters long, make it 8 characters or less.

Also, it appears to me that you are not changing the hostname itself, but changing the name within GSP which is totally separate.

Hi Alberto,

You changed the hostname through "set parameter" ???

Can you explain the steps you did?

Cheers,
Mohan.

the problem was a card fibre PCI Channel to see some disks recently installed XP, we only retire it and normal boot it, apparently is problem of the slot or of the card.

Thanks a lot to all.
