Be aware, if for some reason you are still running 10.20 machines, they will not work if you upgrade to the lastest version of Ignite.

We have that problem here, so we are having to setup a separate Ignite server for our 11.23 machines until we can get rid of the old 10.20 systems.

Yes - but you need the latest ignite server and ignite clients.

Rgds...Geoff

In addition to the first reply you will to swcopy the Core OS cd(s) for 11.23 to the NFS share that you are using as an Ignite Server.

With Ignite 6.x you should be able to support all supported versions of HP-UX on that server, so long as you have the disk space, and the patience to deal with the configuration files.

SEP

I are getting ready to upgrade the Ignite-UX release from B.5.4.50 to C.6.2.241 and was just hoping to try and test the upgrade on our development servers.
Is there any problems that may get me on the upgrade ? I was planning on making a copy of the INDEX file, doing an swremove of the current Ignite-UX and then doing an swinstall of the new version and then copy back in my INDEX file. Will I loose the definitions of the clients I am backing up now ? and is there anything I need to install or change on the clients before the next make_net_recovery ?

All of our servers are currently 11.11, I guess what I was wondering is after I get the Ignite server upgraded to C.6.2.241 what other steps do I need to do ??

Do I need to upgrade anything on the client servers themselves that backup to the Ignite server, or are there any other steps I need to do on the Ignite server itself ?
