can not run make_tape_recovery - NO ingnite installed

I have a HP-UX 11.00 9000/800/L3000-7x

I did not do the install on the machine, so I do not know what is installed with it.
I went to make a bootable OS tape, with make_tape_recovery and the command was not there.
I did a
# swlist -l product Ignite-UX
# Initializing...
# Contacting target "server"...
ERROR: Software "Ignite-UX" was not found on host "server:/".

I then found out that ignite does not get installed in a standard load. I then downloaded the depot file...

Ignite-UX-11-00_B.4.4.30_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot

When I went to install it I recieved errors...

Now when I do a
cerberus$swlist -l product Ignite-UX

exists.

But it did not install properly!
What do I do now...

All you need to do is this:

swverify \*

just see if there is a hung ignite install.

If there is:

swconfigure \*

If not configured then, get this depot:

http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=IGNITEUXB

save it in say /tmp

cd /tmp

swinstall -x reinstall=true -s $PWD/name_of_ignite_depot \*

Then try again.

Download and install the product again. From the output of your swinstall, it sounds like you had an incomplete download of the Ignite/UX depot.

to do an swlist w/out the errors you recieved, try it as root instead of as your non-root login.

I think the download is +40 to 50MB... I'd have to check. either way, download it again and make sure you have a complete download, then install.

Hi,

If I am on the problem, I'd like to remove it out of the system for clean installation before reinstallation.
Download it from http://software.hp.com completely and install it again.

Alou is a cubby... hehe lost last nite...

I think they deserved it b/c of the way the fans treated that guy in the stands.

Fans like that dont deserve to see their team in the World Series.

I found that the file was not downloaded properly. Check the size of the file.
