Normally when I do my make_xxx_recovery I include the entire root VG (vg00), and I was just wondering if I do not include the entire VG00, and then do a restore, what will my root VG look like after the restore?

Thanks in advance.

If you do not include the whole VG00 with an '-x inc_entire=vg00' and do not specify anything else then the files that will be included in your archive are those defined in /opt/ignite/recovery/mnr_essentials.
Thing is like, even if u include a single file from a vg in the recovery archive, when u restore from the tape, ALL the data in the VG disks will be washed out and only that single file present in the tape will be restored.

This holds true even in case of vg00. As mentioned above by Patrick, only mnr_essentials files will be restored, rest will be washed out of VG00 disks.
