Make_tape_recovery error on HPUX 11.23

We are facing a problem while taking a ignite backup on Itanium server having Operating system 11.3.
mkboot_lif error:/opt/ignite/boot/boot_lif file not found.
When we try to verify the presence of the file it is not present at the location.
The previous history is
Ignite UX software was not present and we hve installed the software from the OS cdrom and the software installation was successfully completed.

This a bug in the 4.3.x version of ignite, download and install the latest version from

I have seen this error in old ignite versions, please upgrade to 4.4 or higher.

Hi,

Installing 11.11 version of Ignite-UX will solve your problem.Donot remove the 11.23 version of Ignite-Ux.

Sunil,

I think, you are not hitting a known problem... instead your Ignite installation is not complete. If you install from DVD then you see:

B5725AA <<<
Ignite-IA-11-22
Ignite-IA-11-23
Ignite-UX-10-20
Ignite-UX-11-00
Ignite-UX-11-11

The boot_lif file is part of the BOOT-KERNEL-PA fileset, which is part of the B5725AA bundle. So I assume you didn't select the B5725AA bundle during instllation.

BTW, I would recommend to install the 5.3 release from software.hp.com instead.

You are correct. That fileset is there in 11.11 version of Ignite-Ux.
