      <title>boot from ignite server errors</title>

      <description>I am trying to boot a K420 to our Ignite server and get the following the following errors (see attached).  I am running  11.0, Ignite B.4.4.30 on both machines.  They sre on the same sub net.&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks,&lt;BR /&gt;Richard&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Your verion of Ignite requires boot be from the built in LAN card. Not any add in card or Gigabit add in, built in only.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thats the error I got when i tried it through the 100 Base T add in.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can watch the boot as follows:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;tail -f /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Make sure your DCHP server has a valid unused ip address and ps -ef | grep boot on the server and try and watch for connectivity issues.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Make sure NFS and other networking is solid.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;instl_adm -d&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The transfer itself can be through any LAN, the boot must be built in.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>I put the network cable into the 10T built in lan card and received the same error.  Should i have rebooted or made any changes when i switch the network cable?  We are not running DHCP.&lt;BR /&gt;Richard&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>My best guess now that you are on the built-in LAN port is that the corresponding port on your switch is not set to 10MB/s. Check the switch settingh and boot again.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>got the jack switched to 10 and everything worked.  Does the latest version of Ignite let you boot other then the built in LAN?&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks for all the help,&lt;BR /&gt;Richard&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
