Setting up server depots

Hi peeps

I have installed ignite and cannot for the life of me remember how to create the software depots for the 'Software Server Depot Setup'.

Can this only be done from make_depot using an Ignite CD or did I dream that previously I did it somehow from the tar download file.

Please could somebody jog my failing brain cells?

Hi.
For what it is necessary for you? If for creation depots, that take advantage better swpackage. And look at attach.

Thanks, but that is not quite what I meant. I want to be able to create core os depots for use with ignite, without an ignite cd.

Are you talking about a Golden Image. You should be able to do everything from the tarball download. There is nothing I know of that isn't installed with it.

Actions->Run Tutorial/sever setup -> server setup ?

fyi command = /opt/ignite/bin/add_release see man page for syntax

Alex, add_release is what I want to do, but can I use the core os install cd as the source file as I do not have an ignite cd around. If not, what can I use.

Hi,
Yes you can use the core OS CD, you can even have Ignite copy the CD into your filesystem as an install image if you do not want to lock the CD down for that purpose. The above mentioned commands will do this.
I have done it both ways, prefer copying the OS into an install image.
