      <description>mt -f /dev/rmt/0m rew&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Will return a return code ($?) of Not Zero if there is no tape in the drive or the drive is not ready.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Best done before all tape backup commands within a script.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Share and Enjoy!       <description>Have you checked the basics on the tape drive?  Is it powered up?  Are the SCSI cables plugged in?  Is it properly terminated?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Have you tried a different tape?  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If all else fails, place your hardware call.</description>
