    <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am trying to install ignite on a 10.20 system.  I do a swinstall -s /var/tmp/ignite etc and I get the swinstall screen and I go through the installation process.  The install analysis goes fine, I can look at the log file and it says all is well but the session just hangs with Status: Finishing Analysis and I have to kill the session to get out.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have tried this a dozen times already and it does not work.  I even downloaded another file and it does the same thing.  I installed the pax patch before this and had no problem.  Does anyone have any idea what is going on?  I did deinstall an older version of ignite before I tried to install the new one but I don't think that is the problem.  Any help would be appreciated.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;John</description>

      <description>Hi John,&lt;BR /&gt;1.Make sure that you have ignite for 10.20. &lt;BR /&gt;2.What is the last log entry while it hangs? swinstall has option to see log file while it is doing installation.&lt;BR /&gt;3.use option-change option and select "reinstall even if same fileset exists.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sachin</description>

      <description>Hi John:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;'swinstall' can be very fussy about underlying network issues.  I recall running into similar issues once, as you have, although not installing Ignite.  If 'measureware' or 'glance' is running, I remember that sometimes 'swinstall' will hang.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;One workaround that I always use in interactive 'swinstall' from a telnet sesssion, is to start 'swinstall' as follows:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# swinstall -x rpc_binding_info=ncadg_ip_udp:[2121]&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;...JRF...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>James,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The "mwa stop" before swinstall has become so routine, I had forgotten about it.  As best I recall, there is some sort of buffer contention between MeasureWare and SD-UX.  My symptoms were typically that the analysis would pass and the install would get some 10, 20, or 30% complete then just hang dead.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HP's response was pretty humorous.  They released a patch which (and I quote) "reduces the liklihood" of the contention.  I always wondered why they couldn't cobble-up a patch that would *completely* fix it.
