      <description>As far as I'm aware, the default "block size" is typically 512 bytes.</description>

      <description>Block size is a "flexible" term.  It can be used in reference to filesystems, disks, etc.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Gernerally, though, I agree with the response above.  For most system utilities block size defaults to 512 bytes.</description>

      <description>An Ignite recovery tape consists of two parts:&lt;BR /&gt;1. Boot image&lt;BR /&gt;2. Data image&lt;BR /&gt;The boot image is witten in 2KB blocks and the data image is written in 10KB blocks (default blocksize for pax).</description>
