Installing HP-UX on new VM (6.2) from March 2013 media fails

Has anyone had success loading a new HP-UX OS from the March 2013 media, on to a VM?

The VSP is was just installed with the March 2013 media. I created a brand new VM and when I add either the ISO file or the DVD as storage, I am able to boot from it, but once I select 'Install HP-UX', I get the following Ignite error:

* Checking configuration for consistency...

NOTE: run_cmd: Process: 120 (net_cfg_prep): killed by signal: 11.

ERROR: Could not open /tmp/env.vars: No such file or directory (errno = 2).

ERROR: Could not execute net_cfg_prep

NOTE: System rebooting...

Shutdown at 14:37 (in 0 minutes)

I was able to successfully load from the September 2011 media onto the VM.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes, unfortunately there is an Ignite/UX bug in 11.31.1303 media.

The only workaround at the moment is to install the guests using Ignite server.

ISO images with new Ignite/UX version which includes the fix are available thru HP support.

I believe it is on the latest Ignite-UX:

swlist -l product | grep -i Ignite
Ignite-UX C.7.16.283 HP-UX System Installation Services

Is booting from ISO installation still supported, as most forums point to the Ignite Server installation, which is a more cumbersome installation compared to booting from iso.

The fixed media use newer Ignite version with the necessary fix (7.16.500) which is not yet available elsewhere.

Both methods are supported, nothing has changed, except that there was this bug in Ignite which caused problems when installing from ISO image and which had the network installation as a workaround.

Are you sure that "fixed" ISOs have been released? I had the same problem with the March 2013 VSOE media, so yesterday I went to the electronic fulfullment website and downloaded the March 2013 VSOE ISOs from there (that's the latest they have listed), and I'm still seeing the same problem.

Can't seem to find the version (7.16.500), that you speak of on HP Support. From what is available under electronic downloads, only version (7.16.283) exists. Please paste me the link if possible. Thanks!

The advice was not to search HP support center website, but to call HP support. I do not think

the updated version is available on the web.
