    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I try to use the following command to create the HPVM on integrity server but have error occur.&lt;BR /&gt;# hpvmcreate -P Fedora -O LINUX -c 1 -r 1G -a dvd:scsi::file:/opt/hpvm/ISO-images/linux/fedora-ia64-dvd.iso &lt;BR /&gt;-a disk:scsi::lv:/dev/vg00/rfedora -a network:lan::vswitch:vswitch1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Output error:&lt;BR /&gt;hpvmcreate: WARNING (Fedora): Device file '/dev/vg00/rfedora' is a server-restricted device and cannot be used by a guest while restricted.  See 'hpvmdevmgmt -l rdev:/dev/vg00/rfedora'.&lt;BR /&gt;hpvmcreate: ERROR (Fedora): Due to errors affecting the device database, the guest configuration file will not be updated.&lt;BR /&gt;hpvmcreate: Unable to create guest 'Fedora'.&lt;BR /&gt;hpvmcreate: Unable to create the guest.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# hpvmdevmgmt -l rdev:/dev/vg00/rfedora&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/vg00/rfedora:CONFIG=rdev,EXIST=YES,DEVTYPE=LV,SHARE=NO,AUTORDEV=YES::HPVM_STATID_3349_1073741833&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What's problem?       <description>&lt;P&gt;Look at your config "CONFIG=rdev" .. it is restricted device.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Read this manual.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://docstore.mik.ua/manuals/hp-ux/en/T2767-90141/rn01re06.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://docstore.mik.ua/manuals/hp-ux/en/T2767-90141/rn01re06.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can disable it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Disable restricted directory recursion by removing the&lt;BR /&gt;RECURSIVE attribute.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# hpvmdevmgmt -d rdev:/some-directory:attr:RECURSIVE&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Look at this similar thread.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/General/not-able-to-assign-disk-to-guest-from-host/m-p/4436569#M141401" target="_blank"&gt;http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/General/not-able-to-assign-disk-to-guest-from-host/m-p/4436569#M141401&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
