You need to install vPars software at the time time (one go) as the image or include the software into the image before on the source system.

Hi

I have an 11.31 RX8640 running 2 x vPar 5.02 machines. I am trying to add a third running 11.23 vPar 4.04. I belive this will work bit I am having difficulties Igniting the new vPar. I am using a Golden Image which does not contain the vPars components and trying to include a software depot with vPars 4.04 in the installation.

Is this possible? If so can someone give me very simple instrictions as I am a very simple person and the Ignite documentation is not very clear to me:-(

Regards

Dave

Thanks, Torsten. I had realised I need to include it at the recovery time but it is that I am having problems with. I have no 11.23 image with vPars available at the moment but I do have an 11.23 and a vPars 4.04 depot - It is the inclusion of that depot into the recovery procedure that I find problematic. I have no clent/CINDEX file as this client has never been created before so it is that issue I cannot seem to get around.

You can install an image and add several depots.

There is a workaround.

Boot the server in nPars mode, install the OS (even from image), then install vPars software.

Ahhh - Would but I could Torsten. The server contains 2 existing 11.31 vPars which need to remain there for some weeks yet so I cannot boot it into nPars or put 11.23 on just yet:-(

My only option seems to be including the vPars 404 depot with the 11.23 Golden Image but I have no experience of doing this - Which is why I need simple steps how to do it!

Don't get me wrong!

Go to nPar mode, install 11.23 and vPars software on new disks, boot back into vPars mode, define the vPar and start it. So you have your old and a new vPar.
