    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What you need to be careful of in a virtualized world, is what various commands report is not necessarily "the truth" from a physical perspective, or from the perspective of a given application.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I think you said in your other threaf that you need to figure out the number of cores available to an application for licensing purposes.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You might also want to take a look at this technical paper which discusses how applications should programatically figure out what their environment looks like:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://docs.hp.com/en/9450/vse_tips_for_application_developers.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;http://docs.hp.com/en/9450/vse_tips_for_application_developers.pdf&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HTH&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Duncan&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt; thanks for reply.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;%uname -a&lt;BR /&gt;HP-UX vdelta B.11.11 U 9000/800 109092009 unlimited-user license&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My Hp version is 11.11, so machinfo is not there, is there any command or API by which I can detect the processor type.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
