Check for any start up scripts in /sbin/init.d.<BR /><BR />Run "ps -ef |grep X11" and see if you recognize anything. It uses a server to manage the Xwindows for other servers. I've got several HP-UX servers that are already working - they're all 11.11. I have three servers that are 11.31 and they won't show up on the "Chooser" window. <BR /><BR />I've installed CDE for 11.31 on the servers. If I run /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start, I get the following<BR /><BR />" ./dtlogin.rc start<BR /><BR />Fatal server error:<BR />Server is already active for display 1<BR /> If this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X1-lock<BR /> and start again.<BR /><BR />cbpux31 # mwm: Another window manager is running on screen 0<BR />mwm: Unable to manage any screens on display."<BR /><BR />This also happens during reboot.
