      <description>Hi:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Based upon your description, you appear to have an '/etc/securetty' file. This file, if present, lists the valid 'tty' devices for a root login.       <description>Try ssh as this will permit root login unless blocked in the sshd_config file.</description>
