      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Our customer had an rx2800 server running HPUX 11i v3 connected to an XP storage.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;After unmounting a file system created on storage , he tried to deactivate the corresponding volume group but he got&amp;nbsp; the following :&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;# vgchange -a n /dev/vg_svw&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Could not open the LVM device file /dev/lvm_private/lvm .&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;open: Permission denied&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;vgchange: /etc/lvmconf/lvm_lock: Permission denied&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;vgchange: "/etc/lvmtab" could not be read into memory.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please advise.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks and Regards&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Roger&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&amp;gt; The are working&amp;nbsp; as root.﻿&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Assuming you meant "they", what do you mean by they?&amp;nbsp; Are you saying that the people running the command are logged in as root (working as=logged in as) or that the commands work if logged in as root?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
