Hi pallav,

If you install the bind9.2 from ignite or dvd or package , swinstall will automatically takes care of old bind and installs new version without losing the existing configuration.

bobby

Shalom,

The zone files are compatible.

Back up the data to be certain, you may have new options for named.conf, and you may need some down time to get the daemon to start after upgrade.

SEP

Hi Pallav,
Before upgrading you have to backup hosts file, named.conf and any zone files.

RGds//
Taifur
