    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Hi,&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;﻿&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;After restarting the server disk are present&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;and diskinfo also shown the size of disk&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;but &lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;on smh no unused disk visible.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;on &lt;STRONG&gt;smh&lt;/STRONG&gt; disk are not visible why?&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;please help me.﻿&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I&amp;nbsp;have hp san 4400 and i created&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;two vdisk one is 200 gb and another is 230 gb this vdisk in PRESENTED connected on hp ux server(UATDATA1)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This disks shown on hp ux like&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/dsk/c2t1d0 and&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/dsk/c2d1d3&lt;BR /&gt;so i created the lvm via SMH like&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/x01/vgx01 mounted on /x01&amp;nbsp; and&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/s01/vgs01 mounted on /s01&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;its all right and working fine&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BUT MY DBA(user)TOLD ME DELETE THE&amp;nbsp; DISK AND CREATE LARGE space&amp;nbsp;DISK&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;SO I DELETED LVM on hp-ux(uatdata1)&amp;nbsp; AND SAN VDISK&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;AGAIN I CREATED TWO VDISK&lt;BR /&gt;ONE IS 300 GB AND 0NE IS 400 GB&lt;BR /&gt;ITS connected on (uatadata1)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BUT WHEN I RUN COMMAND&lt;BR /&gt;IOSCAN -M DSF&lt;BR /&gt;ITS SHOWS OLDER disk&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/dsk/c2t1d0 and&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/dsk/c2d1d3&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;AND RUN ANOTHER COMAND&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DISKINFO /DEV/DSK/C2T1D0&lt;BR /&gt;ITS SHOWS NOTHING on&amp;nbsp;both disk&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;AND run&amp;nbsp; &lt;STRONG&gt;SMH&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;THERE ALSO SHOWN DISK 0 GB SPACE&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Why my new disk not shown and&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;why its shown 0% disk space on that particular disks&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;why its shown older deleted disk path and not seem new disk path.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i awaiting of your precious answer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Running 11.31?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you delete a LUN and present another new LUN with same LUN number the server prevents access for security reasons, unless you use scsimgr with replace_wwid option (see scsimgr white paper) or a reboot of the server.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;if&amp;nbsp; it is possible&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;without restart the server and re create the vdisk&amp;nbsp; different lun on SAN .&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;if it is .how can we that.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You can delete the old disk devices / hardware address to clear it from ioscan output.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Run the below command to rescan and make the new disk visible.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;# ioscan -fnNC disk&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;# insf -e (reinstall missing / new device files)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;# ioscan -m dsf -&amp;gt; check if the new luns are seen. it might not be have the same device name as the older one.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>I assume the new LUN has the same device files like the old LUN had - did you remove everything from the old LUN before removing?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(VG definitions, etc)</description>
