      <description>i have got a server under HP-UX 11.23 ia64&lt;BR /&gt;i need to install oracle database, but the prerequisite is that in the user environment must be the variable DISPLAY. i decided to install vncserver but found that this software is for PA-RISC only. i need something like vnc but for Itanium platform/</description>

      <description>You should look for an X-Display software on your PC, or work from a linux machine with a graphical display.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then jo need to "export DISPLAY=&lt;YOUR machine=""&gt;:0.0"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To test if it works, run xclock.&lt;/YOUR&gt;</description>

      <description>This is the step i used to follow for getting GUI for oracle installation...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1. install xmanager on desktop &lt;BR /&gt;2. open port in network firewall ( between server &amp;amp; your desktop) to enable x11&lt;BR /&gt;3. check the required java version is installed on server&lt;BR /&gt;4.  login as oracle user &lt;BR /&gt;5. export server display to your desktop  ( export DISPLAY=&lt;DESKTOP ip=""&gt;:0.0 )&lt;BR /&gt;6. just open xmanager  on your desktop (no need to take connection from desktop)&lt;BR /&gt;7. Run the installer for oracle  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;this will satrt a gui installation window on your desktop &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Try this &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Reagrds &lt;BR /&gt;Prsu &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/DESKTOP&gt;</description>
