Hi all,

I am trying to setup iscsi connection to my array on 11.31. I am using March, 2008 distribution on HP IA64 box.

I have installed "iSCSI-00_B.11.31.01_HP-UX_B.11.31_IA+PA.depot" which is the latest one available at software.hp.com.

I am able to ping my target IP, which means that the connections are OK.

iscsiutil -l shows,

Initiator Name : iqn.1986-03.com.hp:libj021.bf62f16d-84b3-11dc-9f76-268f1d573dcb
Initiator Alias :

Authentication Method : None
CHAP Method : CHAP_UNI
Initiator CHAP Name :
CHAP Secret :
NAS Hostname :
NAS Secret :
Radius Server Hostname :
Header Digest : None,CRC32C (default)
Data Digest : None,CRC32C (default)
SLP Scope list for iSLPD :

I am able to discover the target IP, but iscsiutil -pS or -pO does not give any put.

Also, while starting the slp deamon in am getting the following error:
"/usr/lib/hpux32/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libslp.so.1'"

I followed a similar procedure for 11.23 and it worked fine. Is there any thing that I am missing?

Thanks.

Hi ,

You have configured your iscsi initiator correctly. If you want to get the output of the commands iscsiutil -pS or -pO , you need to configure CHAP ,

Follow http://docs.hp.com/en/T1452-90011/ch04s02.html?btnNext=next%A0%BB

to configure the same

But as far as I understood, CHAP is required only when I have enabled the same Authmethod on the storage array.
In my case, the storage array do not have any such setting. I am able to connect my linux hosts to the array without CHAP authentication.

One more thing, I am getting "unable to connect to the destination:<TARGET ip="">" in syslog.

Could this be an Array issue. I am facing the same problem on 11.23 as well.</TARGET>

It seems there were some port speed issues. I was able to configure the host for iscsi on 11.23 after fixing the port speed, but the same config is not working for 11.31.

On 11.31, the iscsi gets configured at the forst attempt of adding the target IP's but subsequently, when I run, ioscan, the sessions gets logged out and I get "Pipe is broken" error.

Any suggestions??

Yup, thats the last resort. But, what I am wondering is, why the same setup works on 11.23 and not on 11.31 (I have dual boot).

Does 11.31 has specific speed limilations.
