samba help

I have a bunch of HPUX 11i servers one of which needs to mount a windows file system. I heard that Samba is what I need.

Do I need a client or a server and where would I find some getting started docs

What you need is the CIFS client software.

Thanks for the starting point. I forgot to ask if I need to install anything special on the windows machine.

Nope, nothing needs to be installed on Windows. The CIFS products allow HP-UX to talk to the Windows machines are map to the Windows shares.
