IPFILTER install broke networking

Last weekend i installed ipfilter 3.5beta5 A.03.05.12 on my hp-ux 11.11 server and it broke alot of the boot scripts, including the network. The system came back up with unknown as the nodename and hostname. Inetd, snmp, mail, securepath manager all failed to start. I had to manually set node and host then manually start inetd before any inbound connections worked. My system is still this way even after removing the firewall. I was on Sep 2005 patch level before the install, but i contuined to update the patches to current after removing the firewall.

Everyting else failes because /sbin/init.d/hostname fails to work now. When i run this manually this is what i get.

After running this it sets the operating system to "-t" and modifies the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file!!!! OPERATING_SYSTEM=-t

There is a commonality in all these scripts that is broke. I attached part of the rc.log to help.

Another note on this is that all the errors in the rc.log file show this "Syntax error at line 84 : `)' is not expected." Line 84 of what file????

nddconf file was modified and had a missing ) in it. This broke everything having to do with networking when it booted. 1 config file should have not done this..
