      <description>Hi Jeff&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The simplest way to know what is in the file is to do a strings and genrally the error pops up at the start itself . However there was a tool Q4 to analyse crash dumps which is also easier to use.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Manoj Srivastava</description>

      <description>just do a file core&lt;BR /&gt;to figure out the process responsible.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;After that what core to figure out shared libs etc.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;More than that more or less requires source code of the app that dumped.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.hp.com/go/developers" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.hp.com/go/developers&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;or&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.hp.com/go/developer" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.hp.com/go/developer&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;for the WDB (Gnu debugger)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Later,&lt;BR /&gt;Bill</description>
