    <description>I've failed mirror disk. This disk is now replaced.&lt;BR /&gt;I've run below command to add it to the volume group vgdb&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;serverA:pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c9t12d0&lt;BR /&gt;Physical volume "/dev/rdsk/c9t12d0" has been successfully created.&lt;BR /&gt;serverA&amp;gt; vgcfgrestore -n /dev/vgdb  /dev/rdsk/c9t12d0&lt;BR /&gt;vgcfgrestore: Couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c9t12d0":&lt;BR /&gt;The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to &lt;BR /&gt;this volume group&lt;BR /&gt;Volume Group configuration has been restored to /dev/rdsk/c9t12d0&lt;BR /&gt;serverA&amp;gt; vgchange -a y vgdb&lt;BR /&gt;Volume group "vgdb" has been successfully changed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But still the disk is not visible in vgdisplay command&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please advise&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sagar&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>The procedures are quite different between the various versions of HP-UX. Also, depending on whether you have pvchange -a option, the procedures are not the same.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;At the most common level (10.20 an higher), you must remove the mirroring using lvreduce -m 0 -A n &lt;EACH_LVOL_PATH&gt;. Then vgreduce the bad disk out of the VG. Now replace the disk, run pvcreate, add the disk to the VG, then lvextend -m 1 &lt;EACH_LVOL_PATH&gt;. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There are simpler ways with 11.11 and higher when you can hot swap the disk, but this assumes that the failure doesn't cause problems with the commands.&lt;/EACH_LVOL_PATH&gt;&lt;/EACH_LVOL_PATH&gt;</description>

      <description>Normally there is no need to reduce the mirror if the system can do LVM Online Disk Replacement (LVM OLR).&lt;BR /&gt;In this case you do "pvchange -a N ..." for the disk to prevent LVM access.</description>

      <description>Thanks All,&lt;BR /&gt;I used the old method.&lt;BR /&gt;vgextend and then I did a lvextend -m 1 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Torsten : I'm not sure when is pvchange -a n / y  command useful.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please advise&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sagar</description>
