Hi Mark,

Last time I saw this error, it was due to a bad cable.

Cheers,
Kasper

This message can come due to following reasons:

a) Bad Cable
b) Port fault on Hub/Switch
c) Faulty Hub/Switch

You can pin point the fault by checking other systems connected to the same Hub/Switch. If all systems are getting above message, most probably Switch issue. Switch reboot may also cause this message.

Regards,
Amit Chauhan
Mark

Do you've STM installed on your server?
Check with STM if you can get more info, also if STM is installed you should see messages in your syslog.log file.

Does dmesg give you any messages?

Darrel
