Error mounting filesystem: file system validation failure

Hi,

I was trying to create a new logical volume so just after the newfs, I try to mount it failing with error:

vxfs mount: /dev/vg_idwetl/lv_infa is corrupted. needs checking

I run fsck and then I am able to mount it again.

What's weird to me is that this is a new filesystem and that even after the newfs the same error about filesystem corrupted keeps appearing.

I have recreate the logical volume and I got the same error again and again. Strangely, another filesystem I created before worked with no problems...

Any idea?

The only thing that comes to mind would be a bad sector on the drive used to create the LV. Check dmesg output for any SCSI errors relating to that drive. Also take a look at syslog and diagnostics.

No other errors in dmesg, mstm or syslog.log.

It seems that the problems is happening when the logical volume is using several disks so I am checking now with my storage colleagues if all the disks were presented in the same way...

I hope you are not using the SAN disk which presented and in used by another server.
