      <description>Why opening a new thread and not continue the other???&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;However, looks like the disk was "absent" during boot; just try to do&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vgchange -a y vg00&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and check with &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vgdisplay -v vg00&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;again.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If not successful, the disk may be bad and needs replacement.</description>

      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please check following log files.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log &amp;amp;&lt;BR /&gt;/var/opt/resmon/log/event.log&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also you can check cstm log.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# cstm&lt;BR /&gt;cstm&amp;gt;map&lt;BR /&gt;cstm&amp;gt;sel dev &lt;DEV no="" of="" your="" physical="" disk=""&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;cstm&amp;gt;info&lt;BR /&gt;cstm&amp;gt;il&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then check in Error Logs section are there any Read Errors/Write Errors ...&lt;/DEV&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Try &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;dd if=/dev/dsk/c2t0d0 of=/dev/null bs=1024&lt;BR /&gt;ctrl+c&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if diskinfo and dd works fine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#lvdisplay -v -k /dev/vg00/lvol1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;here you can get key for disk c2t0d0&lt;BR /&gt;lvreduce -k -m 0 /dev/vg00/lvol1 key&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;do same for all lv.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vgreduce -f vg00&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;take backup of /etc/lvmtab&lt;BR /&gt;rm /etc/lvmtab&lt;BR /&gt;vgscan -v&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vgextend vg00 /dev/dsk/c2t0d0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol1 /dev/dsk/c2t0d0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;do for all lvs.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Chandra&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt; Your current primary boot disk is c2t0d0. (which is now showing down/error).&lt;BR /&gt;Alternate boot disk path configured is  0/0/2/0.3.0 (which is not now in your ioscan -fn  o/p)&lt;BR /&gt;The path of the root disk which is running is 0/1/1/1.2.0.(/dev/dsk/c3t2d0)&lt;BR /&gt;Check if it is a bootable disk.(because it is not showing in your lvlnboot -v o/p).&lt;BR /&gt;#lifls -l /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0&lt;BR /&gt;#lifcp /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0:AUTO -&lt;BR /&gt;If it is not, configure it as bootable disk,do following (LIF/BDRA configuration-steps till lvlnboot -v)&lt;BR /&gt;# mkboot -l /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0       &lt;BR /&gt;# mkboot -a  'hpux -lq'  /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -r /dev/vg00/lvol3&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -b /dev/vg00/lvol1&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -s /dev/vg00/lvol2&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -d /dev/vg00/lvol2 &lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -v&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#setboot -b 0/1/1/1.2.0&lt;BR /&gt;Also keep backup of lvmtab and vg00.conf&lt;BR /&gt;#cp /etc/lvmtab /etc/lvmtab.bak&lt;BR /&gt;#cp /etc/lvmconf/vg00.conf /etc/vg00.conf.bak&lt;BR /&gt;After this, replace the bad disk and do,&lt;BR /&gt;# vgcfgrestore -n vg00 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0&lt;BR /&gt;# vgchange -a y vg00&lt;BR /&gt;Continue the LIF/BDRA configuration for the new disk.&lt;BR /&gt;If all previous steps were working fine,do&lt;BR /&gt;#vgsync vg00&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
