After installing Orcale 8.1.6 I was geeting a core dump while trying to excute, hence I tried to apply the database patch 119493, but while applying the patch I am recieving the following error

/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Can't open linkorderfile
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: No such file or directory

Whereas the directory is present as well as having proper permissions...

Can anyone pls. help on how to resolve this issue.

After an upgrade of 10.20 to 11.00, I was installing some patches (lvm and vxfs) and got this message. I called HP support, but they had no answer. I had to do something, so I examined all our other systems that were at 11.00. I found two or three different linkorder files. I swallowed hard, picked the most common one, and installed on the system in question. That did work and everything has been cool ever since.

So I guess that if you have no other solution, you might try that. Good luck.
