on my 11.23 system and before, I was able to created a logical volume /tmp/sys/log. This is NOT the /tmp LV but a part of the name of the logical volume. So the whole logical volume name is /tmp/sys/log. Can this be done in the SIM on a system running 11.31? Because I have been unsuccessful at doing this

Hi Ross:

Why would you *want* to do this? Normally, of course, device files for LVM are created in the '/dev' directory which is merely a subdirectory of the 'root' directory and therefore mounted first and/or in single-user mode. The device file you created would require the '/tmp' directory to be mounted --- not a very good thing.

Regards!

...JRF...

I do not have any error messages because when I hit "enter" the web interface just goes back to the page where I enter the information. After much trial and tribulations I have gotten it to work.

Yes, I was entering the mount point instead of the logical volume name.

The reason we need to call this certain mount point is only due to our vendor on the software we are running. So, it is required.
