Can you post ldapsearch result for that specific user? May you have to use /etc/nsswitch.ldap to /etc/nsswitch.conf file.

hth.

Hello everybody.
I installed Netscape Directory Server 6 on HPUX machine.

"nsquery passwd" shows that ldap is searched, but username is not found although it is in directory (ldapsearch found the results).

So, I'm not sure what is the problem here. Any ideas?

Post output of following.

nsquery passwd "user_name"

I do not know if nsqueyry supports ldap or not. Then command would have been
nsquery passwd "user_name" "ldap"

Have you corretly configured nsswitch.conf file and is readable to all??

OK, "nsquery passwd mini ldap" gives this:

Using "ldap" for the passwd policy.

Searching ldap for mini
mini was NOTFOUND

Switch configuration: Allows fallback

All name services have been searched

And I have this in nsswitch.conf:

passwd: files ldap
group: files ldap

Now I'm having troubles with everything. I messed up something trying to fix it, so the ldapsearch doesn't work either.
I have these troubles:
Setup fails with this:
PFMERR 41: Can't download Profile Entry from Directory Server!
retcode: 0
Try to run /opt/ldapux/config/get_profile_entry -s nss

When I try that, I get this:
PFMERR 5: Downloading profile entry failed!

"ldapsearch" gives no results, but doesn't report any errors either.

I've also attached the result of "display_profile_cache". Is passwd supposed to be *NULL*?

I'm starting to feel lost right now. :-(
