    <description>I have downloaded some patches from the HP site with a Windows system....I get a text in the html page, I copied it in a text file called: sh file. I transfered it with ftp, I have it in my Unix System but have no idea how to apply it!&lt;BR /&gt;This is a realy newbee question but every body has to learn....:))&lt;BR /&gt;Can someone help me?&lt;BR /&gt;Sandro&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>On the UX machine type&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sh ./filename&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;where filename is the name of the file you transferred from your Windows machine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A .text and a .depot file will be created. Just install the .depot file using swinstall...</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; I have downloaded some patches from the &amp;gt;&amp;gt; HP site with a Windows system....I get a &amp;gt;&amp;gt; text in the html page, I copied it in a &amp;gt;&amp;gt; text file called: sh file. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This sh file is in SHAR format.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The following command it used to covert this into .depot and .text file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PHXX_XXXX.text file contains the info about the patch (like dependies, bug fixes...) and the procedure for installation&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PHXX_XXXX.depot file the original file to be installed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The patch can be installed either throuch menu or command options.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;for menu just type &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;swinstall&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;select the source file /tmp/PHXX_XXXX.depot&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;for command mode installation&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true -s /tmp/PHXX_XXXX.depot   &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this info make you comfirtable ...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;venu</description>
