Most likely, the new disks (actually, LUNs) created while the cluster was running so there is nothing to trigger HP-UX to discover the LUNs and create the device files. Start with ioscan -fCdisk to see if the disk addresses actually appear.

Now run insf -H 1/2/3/whatever

insf will add the device files for that specific address. Or you can run insf -e to create any missing files.

When I do a ioscan -funC disk I see some disks (they come from my xp512) have missing device files. I think it are the latest disks witch are configured.
All the other disks, most also from my xp512, have device files.
This machine is in a 3 node cluster and on the other two machines I do not have this problem. The other two machines also use the same disks of the xp512 (all 3 machines must see the all the disks). Can someone help me.

Thanks a lot Bart.

Have you tried to run 'insf -e' to create your special files? Just thought that I would ask. I hope that this helps.

Regards,
Jason V.
