Quorum server

I wanted to migrate the lock disks in our 2 service guard clusters to a quorum server.

After a cmcheckconf (with the quorum server) In the first cluster I get that this kind of modification is not supported while the cluster is running. As expected.

The second cluster appeared to have no locking mechanism at all.

While performing a cmcheckconf it says:

naxsap11:/etc/cmcluster#cmcheckconf -C /etc/cmcluster/sapcluster.ascii

MAX_CONFIGURED_PACKAGES set to 150.

MAX_CONFIGURED_PACKAGES set to 150.

Modifying the cluster locking mechanism from majority to server while cluster
sapcluster is running.

Adding Quorum Server Host naxsap03.nl.enritec.com while sapcluster cluster is running.

Modifying configuration on node naxsap01

Modifying configuration on node naxsap02

Modifying configuration on node naxsap12

Modifying configuration on node naxsap11

Modifying configuration on node naxsap21

Modifying configuration on node naxsap22

cmcheckconf: Verification completed with no errors found.

Use the cmapplyconf command to apply the configuration.

Does this mean that in this case the cluster does not need a restart?

Already have the answer.

It is version 11.19 and can be reconfigured online.

How many nodes in the 2nd cluster. ONly clusters with 2 nodes require a quorum mechanism. ITs optional for all other clusters.
