Thanks. I downloaded the patches to the
/tmp directory on my D280. cd to /tmp.
then sh PHNE_21767.
Greetings,
My D280 has 11.00 installed on it. It has
a J3516A 100BT card in it, but the driver was never installed. I can't locate my 11.00 disks but have my hp-ux 11i disks. Can I install the driver from hp-ux 11i disks onto my D280 running 11.00 and have it work?

thanks
Darryl

Yes you can, it should be in the 1st application CD. As long as the part number for the driver software is J3623BA you can install it.

Well,
I checked my application cds for 11i (all 3
of them), I also checked my core cds (2 of them) and didn't see the J3623BA software.

These cd's are from HP for my machine and its configuration. What gives?

thanks again.

My mistake, apparently you can't because J3516A (HSC 2-port 100BaseT) is only supported on 10.20 or 11.0, so it's obvious the driver J3623BA will not be in the 11i CDs.

Darryl,

Try Sandip's suggestion.
You may also try to register the file with the swreg command.
But I've seen this before & it's caused by the way the depot was packaged. I'll try to find the solution - can't remember off-hand.
But I have to question why you pulled PHNE_21767 - that's an ARPA cumulative & contains no products - just fixes.
You need PHNE_25579.

Rgds,
Jeff

because when I went to download PHNE_25579, it told me that it depended on PHNE_21767, PHNE_22566, PHNE_22962. So, I thought they were required.

well,
swinstall said that PHNE_2167 was already installed. So, I jumped straight to
PHNE_25579. swinstall said it was a 'sparse' file and was intended to update already installed software. As I am trying to get and
install the J3623BA software for the first time, this isn't going to work.

Any other ideas (I do have the 11i cd's).
