      <description>Hi Friends,&lt;BR /&gt;hpux11iv1.VXVM 3.5&lt;BR /&gt;vxvmconvert analysis succeeds, but conversion fails. with following errors.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  Saving LVM configuration records for Volume Group vg01 ...&lt;BR /&gt;  LVM Volume Group vg01 records saved.&lt;BR /&gt;  Unmounting vg01 file systems..&lt;BR /&gt;  The Volume Manager is now reconfiguring (partition phase)...&lt;BR /&gt;  Volume Manager: Initializing c0t5d0 as a converted LVM disk.&lt;BR /&gt;  Volume Manager:  Reconfiguration will be done without rebooting.&lt;BR /&gt;  The Volume Manager is now reconfiguring (initialization phase)...&lt;BR /&gt;  Volume Manager: Adding dg0101 (c0t5d0) as a converted LVM disk.&lt;BR /&gt;vxvm:vxdg: ERROR: Disk group dg01: cannot create: vxconfigd is currently disabled&lt;BR /&gt;  Addition of dg01 to dg01 disk group failed.&lt;BR /&gt;  Adding volumes for c0t5d0...&lt;BR /&gt;vxvm:vxmake: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible&lt;BR /&gt;  The creation of converted volumes for c0t5d0 failed.&lt;BR /&gt;vxvm:vxprint: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible&lt;BR /&gt;  The following disks failed conversion:&lt;BR /&gt;c0t5d0&lt;BR /&gt;c0t5d0&lt;BR /&gt;Hit RETURN to continue.&lt;BR /&gt;  Volume Manager:  Converting LVM Volume Groups to VxVM disk groups.&lt;BR /&gt;vxvm:vxprint: ERROR: Disk group dg01: No such disk group&lt;BR /&gt;  Conversion failed for LVM Volume Group(s)   vg01&lt;BR /&gt;Hit RETURN to continue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;noticed that process status "vxconfigd -m enable" changes to "vxconfigd -k -r reset -m disable" and then to "vxconfigd -k" by the time vxvmconvert ends with failure.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;please help me understand what is happening?&lt;BR /&gt;do VXVM logs anything useful anywhere ? how to resolve this ?</description>

      <description>You need to make sure VXVM is running properly patched before trying this.  IT looks like ot may have ran but you cannot activate it with VXVM.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
