Hello,

Yes, lvlnboot is not valid for VxVM.

One of the ways for VxVM:

# vxdg bootdg

# vxdg list rootdg

Note that boot data group does not have to
have name "rootdg" anymore.

These are part of my tests for VxVM and LVM
based HP-UX servers:

VxVM
CHECKING CURRENT BOOT DEVICE
____________________________
brw------- 1 root root 5 0x000000 Apr 7 15:45 c3t2d0

Group: rootdg
dgid: 1222122236.8.loopback
import-id: 0.1
flags:
version: 140
alignment: 8192 (bytes)
local-activation: read-write
ssb: on
detach-policy: global
dg-fail-policy: dgdisable
copies: nconfig=default nlog=default
config: seqno=0.1157 permlen=683 free=673 templen=5 loglen=103

AUDIT-PASS: VxVM boot disk group in healthy state
config disk disk6_p2 copy 1 len=683 state=clean online
log disk disk6_p2 copy 1 len=103
...

LVM
CHECKING CURRENT BOOT DEVICE
____________________________
AUDIT-INFO: Boot device 000004 translates to disk
brw-r----- 1 bin sys 3 0x000004 Sep 24 2008 disk3_p2

AUDIT-INFO: Boot string
(;)/stand/vmunix

Cheers,

VK2COT

Shalom,

lvlnboot -v

It does not require a disk name. It check the system and displays all of this information.

If there is a variance with HP-UX 11.31, I don't recall.

To read more:
http://docs.hp.com/en/B3936-90122/ch05s01.html

SEP
